SEVEN SECRETS OF SKILL REVEALED TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE CHILDREN OF ASIA GAMES

The participants of the 1st Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games had a chance to watch a film revealing the seven secrets of improving your skiing technique.

Advisor to ISIA President Sandi MUROVEC together with the protagonist of the film – a Slovenian two-time Olympic Champion in downhill and giant slalom, four-time World Champion, holder of the World Cup in the overall standings Tina MAZE, created a unique documentary revealing the sectrets of this spectacular sport. In fact, this is a fifty-minute video lesson that can serve as a good training aid for new champions.

– The film is primarily focusing on technique. It clearly demonstrates the secrets that I, as a technical trainer, and Tina MAZE worked on during the training process, – said Sandi MUROVEC at the presentation of the film. – Often, we see great athletes end their careers just saying, ‘thank you all and goodbye’. When Tina MAZE wrapped up her sports journey, we decided to share our vision of modern ski technique with athletes.

The film is clearly visualized. Each of the techniques is broken down to the smallest detail. The presentation of the material is also very exciting, the creative approach keeps everyone caught in what’s happening on the screen.

According to Sandi MUROVEC, seven important details are called ‘the seven axioms’ that cannot be questioned, and which are used by any skier in their practice, regardless of training level.

– Our region has been traditionally committed to winter sports. To understand how popular this sport is in Sakhalin, just look at the Gorny Vozdukh Ski Resort. Both professionals and amateurs are practicing here, – said Mr. Sergey BURENKOV, Minister of Sport, Tourism, and Youth Policy of the island region. – The main task for any athlete is continuous development and improvement. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to the crew of this film and to everyone who organized the screening. I am sure that it will allow our athletes to reach a higher level of skills.

Mr. Vladimir MAKSIMOV, Director General of the 1st Winter Children of Asia Games Administration, underscored that the film allows the younger generation to learn the subtleties of mastership from their award-winning older colleagues. In addition, it shows that when trying to achieve big goals in sports, even the smallest details can play a decisive role and lead an athlete to victory.
